Honey Roasted Figs

A healthy, quick and easy dessert for the whole family using the abundance of seasonal figs which are good sources of fiber for healthy intestine function and good sources of potassium for healthy blood pressure. Figs are among the most highly alkaline foods, making them useful in supporting the proper pH of the body.


6 fresh figs

1 tsp of raw honey

sprinkle of cinnamon

1 tsp of Cointreau (optional)

fresh mint and yoghurt to serve


Heat oven to 180 degrees. Cut figs in halves or quarters and then place in a baking dish. Drizzle honey and then Cointreau over the figs. Sprinkle cinnamon powder and place in the oven to bake for 20-30mins - check to avoid burning. Once cooked and caramelized serve with more cinnamon, fresh mint and yoghurt.
